Reclaiming Tradition
We know that tradition can still be innovative. The Hampton Collection strip series takes tradition and turns it into a new statement. The defining new 3 1/2" strip respects the dimensions of original strip hardwood floors.
Simple floating installation remains with the glueless locking tongue and groove. Elegant adaptation of a "gentle cant" bevel to all 4 sides, maximizes each strip's exposure to light and presents an unbelievably expansive feel. The eye simply follows the form. The distinct but slight bevel feature provides interesting depth and texture to any room, yet ease of cleaning remains.
The swedish satin-oil finish delivers an uncompromising realistic wood appeal. Slightly more refined texture mimics its traditional handsanded and finished ancestor.
The 2mm Sound Control Plus attached cushion means the tranquility of a more silent home. Clean glueless installation, no additional underlayment to purchase. Hampton even installs over concrete floors with the use of an inexpensive plastic moisture barrier such as Visqueen

Hampton Sound Control Plus Features
Beveled Edges...The latest feature in laminate floors: Each strip has a beveled edge built into it just like a real wood floor. The 4 sided beveled edges provide individual strip definition to the new Hampton collection. The floor has individual strips like a traditional hardwood floor, instead of the standard laminate 3-piece on a wider piece.
Sound Deadening Cushion Attached: The Hampton Collection features a high quality, dense Neo-Prene rubber underlayment pre-attached to the back of the strips themselves. No need to purchase additional underlayment. The underlayment quiets the hollow noise of foot traffic in the room where the actual flooring has been installed, plus prevents sound transmission to adjacent rooms as well as any rooms 1 level below.
Realism by dimension: The Hampton Collection features 3' long x 3 1/2" wide x 10.3mm thick individual strips.
Finishing touch: The new silk finish reduces the "plastic laminate" appearance and provides for greater grain depth, typically found in much more expensive laminate flooring options.
Thicker and Quieter: The Hampton Collection features a 10.3 mm total overall thickness. The floor itself consists of 8.3mm and the pre-attached sound deadening Neo-Prene rubber cushion provides the additional 2mm.
Denser cores: Hampton utilizes an HDF, High Density Fiberboard core, resulting in improved resistance to denting. This is an advantage over MDF, Medium Density Fiberboard cores typically used in the construction of floors at this price point.
Durability only Aluminum Oxide can provide: The Hampton Collection is coated with an Aluminum Oxide finish, the most durable finish available to date. Guaranteed for 25 years, this provides for a low maintenance, no wax floor that will look great year in, year out.
Better looking by design: The Hampton collection features high quality non porous laminate top decors for improved grain appearance.
Form and Function: Fused, non porous laminate back balancing board underneath the Neo-Prene rubber pre-attached cushion, helps prevent warping and cupping of the laminate strip.
Moisture, no problem: An Acrylic impregnated moisture resistant core is used for resistance to common household moisture.
Accessorize: Exact Match doorway floor transitions and wall base pieces for nearly every transition in your home.
Documents: The 25 year wear warranty and installation instructions are packaged in each carton.
How it rates: Official usage rating of AC3. This means your new Hampton Collection laminate floor can be used in both heavy residential as well as light commercial applications.
Pre-packaged: Hampton arrives in manageable-weight carton sizes for easy home delivery.
Q. I was told that there are two methods of coloring a beveled edge on laminate flooring. Both are sort of like white-out, one in liquid form that is painted on and one in a tape form. Do you know which method the Hampton Collection uses?
A. I have seen both. The problem with the tape version is that it scratches off easily. Hampton uses the liquid version and is painted on by hand.
Q. What kind of underlayment is pre-attached? Should I buy an extra one just to be sure? Can I get a sample?
A. The cushion is a Neo-Prene rubber underlayment. This is a premium upgraded cushion with a cost of $.46 per square foot when purchased separately. It is not necessary to purchase an additional underlayment with Hampton Collection. If you would like a sample we are happy to send them at no charge.
Q. Would you recommend this for a dining room in a restaurant?
A. Yes, this is a common use for a laminate floor with an AC3 rating.
Q. Can the Hampton Collection be used in a dry climate environment?
A. Yes, in any installation you will leave a 1/4 expansion gap around all walls and doorways. This gap is then covered by wall base or quarter round trim. We have both wall base and quarter round trim to match the floors if you need it.
Q. Is the Hampton Collection moisture resistant?
A. While excessive moisture is not good for any laminate floor, some collections come with a Melamine infused core to provide a higher level of moisture resistance. The Hampton Collection does have a Melamine Infused core and is therefore moisture resistant.
Q. Does the Hampton Collection have matching floor, stair, and wall trim?
A. Yes, you will find a list of available trims at the individual color level.
Q. Do I have to use a moisture barrier with this floor when installing over a concrete subfloor?
A. Yes. An inexpensive plastic moisture barrier such as Visqueen is used when installing the Hampton collection over a concrete subfloor or basement.
Q. If I damage a piece, can I uninstall and reinstall a new one in its place later on?
A. Yes, the Hampton Collection utilizes a 45 degree locking system that can be un-locked and re-locked later if needed.
Q. Does this collection have the individual boards with beveled edges?
A. Yes, it does. So does the Masterpiece Collection and the Delano Handscraped Collection.
The Hampton Collection features a glueless locking tongue and groove for faster, less messy installations. This collection can be installed using the floating installation method. The underlayment is pre-attached, no additional underlayment is necessary. Hampton Collection can be used over most subfloors including wooden, concrete with the use of a plastic moisture barrier, and even existing vinyl or tile.
The Hampton Collection can be installed in Basements, First Floors, and any Floor above the first.
The Hampton Collection can be installed by both Professional Flooring Installers and Do It Yourself homeowners.
